Checklist for Going on Exchange
STEP ONE
Make an appointment with the Arts
Faculty Student Adviser (Rachel Schmitt or Barbara Goldflam- email) to make sure you’re eligible, and
a semester abroad fits in with your degree STEP TWO Get information on our partner Universities STEP THREE Make
an appointment with the Exchange coordinator (Hélène Jaccomard- email) who will give you the Study Abroad pack
and help you set up your plan of studies STEP FOUR Fill in the
application form, have it signed by Hélène
Jaccomard, keep a photocopy, and hand it in to the Faculty Student Office (ground floor of the Arts building). STEP FIVE Once the
Faculty has approved your request (it will take a few days), you need to
fill in all the forms in the Study Abroad pack and hand them in to the
International Centre. You’ll also have to find two referees before
submission deadlines (July or December). STEP SIX The
International Centre will let you know about your application within
about two months. You will then have to apply to the partner University
itself. Study Abroad will provide the required forms. STEP SEVEN There
will be pre-departure meetings organised by Study Abroad with students
who have been on exchange themselves, and a two-hour seminar with other
outgoing students run by Hélène Jaccomard to prepare you for your
linguistic and cultural experiences. Have you ticked all the above? Then, have a great time abroad!
